Digging through his pockets, the oldest Valentine child let out a sigh as he grabbed his keys. Today he had to work from open til close, not like he really minded, he just needed more time to actually wake up. Christopher Valentine was not a morning person, but he had a secret weapon with him.
Opening the store, Chris opened his can of Rock star Lemonade energy drink. Yes, that was his secret weapon. It wasn't much but it would help. Once he was chugging his drink, he tossed away the can and walked behind the huge display counter of cupcakes.
Yes, he got to make cupcakes all day long. Which was always fun. Who hated cupcakes? Somebody with no soul. Grabbing a sheet of paper, Chris looked at what he was suppose to make first today; cupcakes that look like sushi. Nodding his head to himself, he readjusted his hat (cause he did not want to wear a fishnet hair net), and walked into the baking room.

Sam Harley lay upside down on her soft bed. Her legs were resting on the wall, while her head lay on her plump feather pillow. She had her small purple blanket draped across her stomach and her right headphone on. She was listening to "Hurricane” by 30 Seconds to Mars. She hummed along to the song as she drew in her sketch pad. Sam had been up since six o’clock. She was multi-tasking between drawing a sketch for a painting she had to do for class and texting her best friend from New York. She smiled as she texted her back once again, thinking of her old life in New York. She missed it sure, but California was her home now and she loved it. Locking her phone she placed it on her stomach and looked over at the clock. 10:15 a.m. She had been sketching out her painting all morning so she never got around to actually eating something.
Sighing, Sam stood up and walked down stairs to the kitchen and looked through the fridge. Bologna, turkey, hot dogs, left over meatloaf. She sighed and closed the fridge, noticing the note posted on the door. It was from her older brother Kevin. ‘Great, more chores.’ She thought to herself. She stood there for a couple of minutes until finally getting an idea. Since she had double the amount of chores she would need a whole bunch of energy. And what better way to get energy than by eating sugar. She looked out the small window over the sink and smiled, running up stairs and straight over to her closet. It was a beautiful day for a nice walk. She changed out of her pajamas and into some jeans and a white blouse. She stood in front of the full length mirror and took in her image. She quickly ran a brush through her hair and walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth. After checking herself out one more time, Sam grabbed her messenger bag, making sure her sketch pad was in there, and pocketed her phone.
Sam walked down stairs to the living room and grabbed her house keys. She wrote a quick note for her brothers stating where she was going and posted it up on the small bulleting board they had right above the hall phone. Putting on her black sunglasses, she walked out of her house, locked it, and started her walk to Cup of Cake. As soon as she turned onto the right block she could smell the fresh cupcakes being baked. She inhaled and smiled. ‘Man, I love the smell of fresh cupcakes.’ She thought to herself as she opened the door to the establishment.Clothing: Click here!Notes: yay! Placing the tray of cupcakes into the oven, all Chris had to do was wait until they were done. He was use to cooking them alone, and he actually worked faster alone than with other co-workers. Wiping his forehead with his arm, Chris removed his latex gloves and walked back out into the main room. He would make the icing later, he wanted to be lazy.
Once back onto the floor, Chris noticed a very familiar girl. She was always in the store ordering a cup cake, though he had no idea what her names was. By what she looked like, he assumed that she was in High school and wondered if she went to school with his younger sister. Readjusting his hat, Chris stood in front of her (while still being behind the counter).
"Hey" he said with a friendly smile, like he did with each customer. "Welcome to Cup of Cake, what kind of cupcake can I get you?" he asked, leaning against the counter.

Sam walked in and smiled. Yup fresh cupcakes. She smiled as she took in her surroundings. She loved coming here to just sit and draw. It was in a weird way, her quiet thinking spot. It's where inspiration hit her the most. The cupcakes themselves were artistic to say the least.
Walking up to the counter she looked up at a familiar face. She didn't know him that well, but from what she could tell he was pretty cool. Smiling, she nodded her head.
"Hey," She greeted. "Um, I don't know. I think I want a red velvet cup cake, but I'm also craving chocolate." She burrowed her eyebrows and puckered her lips in thought.
"What do you think I should get? Ooh, or do you have anything new?" She asked him with, her eyes widening a little with curiosity.

Listening to the girl's problem, Chris gave her a smile as it was only a cupcake related problem. Something easy to solve. Looking down at what was in the huge display area, Chris merely gave a shrug. His favorite was vanilla, plain and simple; something VERY different from his life. Red velvet reminded Chris of his sister and he was never a big fan of chocolate. But right now wasn't about him, it was about the customer.
"I suggest buying one of each if you're that hungry. That way you get to fill your stomach and I get more." he explained, a smile on his face. "But personally, I myself am a fan of vanilla." he said with a slight shrug.
"Yeah some chocolate cupcakes are in the oven right now, but those are for a customer who ordered them specially." he explained, he didn't want to give away cupcakes that were meant to go to somebody else. "But if you want, I can remove the icing from a red velvet cup cake and switch it chocolate icing. What do you say?"

Sam smiled and nodded thoughtfully as she listened to him. She really was having a hard time with the whole decising making. She liked his first idea. Why not get both? Then everyone is happy. Hearing his preference she raised an eyebrow.
"You like vanilla?" She asked a little shocked. Who liked vanilla now-a-days? She only knew one other person that liked vanilla and that was her older brother Parker. He was a little weird when it came down to it. "My brother loves vanilla too. Though I dont know why. But yeah," She quickly thought about it and finally came to a decision. Nodding her head, Sam smiled again and spoke.
"Okay I want both. I am kind o-" She stopped mid-sentence, eyes widening a little, as the third option sank in. Now that sounded really, really good.
"Ooh, that sounds even better." She said, excitement coating her voice. She smiled widely and nodded once. Her mind was set. "Okay I'll take the red velvet with chocolate icing, please." She looked down at the other cupcakes in the display, but stopped when an idea popped into her mind.
"Ooh, and can I get a vanilla one too." She looked back up at him.
Notes: Yeah sorry I had to get off the computer, I was like 20 words off. This one is longer though. Sorry if it's a little scattered.
