With her awesome skill to be able to know people's measurements just by inspecting them, thanks to her costume design class, Cat Valentine was ready for business. She really didn't care about the money part of the business, really... she just liked making the costumes!
The unnatural redhead exited the school and headed to the parking lot, struggling to carry a big sign she'd painted at lunch. Finally she got there and put the sign in the middle of the parking lot. Once she had done so she looked around, stood next to the sign, and waited.
Some people may say it is a bit, well, unnatural to be standing in the middle of the parking lot. There are many people who would say it was rude, inconsiderate, or just plain unsafe. But Cat thought beyond that. She knew that people would be coming out to their cars and getting ready to leave, and since she was standing in the middle of the parking lot, they wouldn't be able to move anywhere without seeing her sign first!
The plan was foolproof; now she only had to wait for her first customer.

Tucking some hair behind her ear, Riley let out a sigh as she walked out of the building of Hollywood Arts. Another day had gone and passed, and now it was time to go home and do nothing. Now all she had to do was just wait for her sister to drive them back home.
Making her way to the parking lot, something caught Riley Mitchell's attention. A girl with vibrant red hair, just standing there with a big sign. To be honest, it looked very weird. The sign was probably bigger than the girl. Biting her lip, Riley looked around. They were the only two people at the parking lot. Letting out a sigh, Riley walked over to the girl.
"Uh hi." she said to her, trying to get a look at her sign. The light was blinding it, so it was a bit hard for her to read.
"Why are you here with a sign?" she asked, confused.

Cat was starting to get a tad worried; perhaps no one came to the parking lot? Everyone sure was taking a long time to get out of the school. It was almost like they were avoiding her! What was that supposed to mean?
But to her relief, someone finally began to walk into the parking lot. They looked around a little bit before approaching her, which in her opinion was kind of strange. She decided to ignore that, though, and instead smiled at the girl when she asked a question, and answered it happily.
"This is my costume business!" she said excitedly, using all her strength to move the giant sign a bit so it scooted toward the other girl, hoping she could now see it better, though the sunlight was bright. Perhaps she should not have used such bright colours on a bright day? ...No, no, it was fine. "Do you want me to make you a costume?" Cat asked, a grin spreading on her face and excitement flooding into her soft brown eyes. That was what this girl was here for, wasn't it?

Riley was slightly confused. A girl was just randomly standing outside to make costumes. It made absolutely no sense to her. Okay sure there was a costume design class, Riley had already planned on taking it for next semester. So maybe she was making costumes for her class.
Now Riley wasn't in any plays at the moment. She had just finished some acting thing called the Bird Scene, it only took her two times to finish it. But she hadn't auditioned for anything, so she really didn't need any costumes. Fixing her head band some, she looked at the girl. She didn't even know her first name and she was offering to make a costume.
"Well I'm sorry to say this, but first off I don't know your name." she said, it would be easier if she knew her name. Or else she was going to title the girl Little-Red, Little Red Riding Hood, or Red Hot, or anything else she could think of.
"I haven't auditioned for any plays, so it would kind of be a waste if you made one for me." she said with a small shrug. "But maybe you could make a Halloween costume for me!" she said happily.
"I'm Riley by the way. Riley Mitchell."

Cat couldn't help but to be a little offended when this girl, Riley, told her she didn't know who she was, and then said making a costume would be a waste. Without thinking or letting her finish, Cat retorted, "What's that supposed to mean?!" she was about to tear up, how mean this girl was being, and run off, when she heard the rest of the sentence. Halloween costumes were always fun to make! Cat felt herself smile once more and said excitedly,
"Yay! Halloween costume! I love excitement!" she said, sharing Riley's apparent excitement with full-throttle joy. Then, she remembered that Riley had told her her name, and wanted Cat to then tell her hers. Nodding to herself in approval of her new customer, she answered,
"I'm Cat! My last name is Valentine. I don't think it was always Valentine though. I think it was named after my uncle when he invented Valentine's day, and then he changed his name to Valentine." she explained seriously. She was proud of her last name and the history it held.

Listening to the girl scream, Riley jumped. To be honest she didn't expect her to just scream like that, she wasn't use to loud and random out-bursts. "I'm sorry!" she exclaimed, stuttering a little as she spoke.
But then something confused Riley Mitchell, the girl acted as if nothing had happened. Scratching her head, Riley gave her a very confused look. This girl was weird, she would defiantly have to keep an eye out on her. Listening to her story, she nodded her head occasionally. The story was actually very interesting.
"That's really cool Cat." she said with a smile. She had no idea that this girl's family invented a freaking holiday. "I have no idea who I was named after. Either somebody in my family or a family friend." she said with a shrug. "I don't think anybody in my family made a holiday or something though." she told her.
Riley smiled and nodded her head. "I would love for you to make me a costume. How much does it cost? And money is no option. Can you make like an ice cream vendor costume? Like from the 50s era?"
