•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘• Entering the black box theater from the back stage door for what had to be the thousandth, maybe even millionth time, Tori still got a small rush from walking out onto the stage, even when the whole room was empty. Slowly it was sinking that this was her senior year, and even with the excitement of an exciting new future she was still reluctant to admit that her new and exciting future came at the cost of saying goodbye to Hollywood Arts and all it had taught her.
Meandering to the edge of the stage Tori allowed the toe part of her shoes to hang off of the edge. It wasn’t far down by any stretch of the imagination, which is why she was comfortable with looking down and past her feet. For the time being she forgot about the fact that it was lunch and that she was hungry. All she wanted to do at that moment was stand on the edge of the stage and let all her good and bad memories come back. Even the bad seemed good in retrospect.
There was every intention to sit down running about the girls mind, but the sound of the front entrance opening had Tori’s plans changing quickly. Half turning to make a break for it, the brunette decided to at least stick around long enough to see who it was. There was a good chance it was one of her friends looking for her.

Lunch was, in Beck’s opinion, the most chaotic time in Hollywood Arts. Luckily for them, there was a table at the Asphalt Café that people avoided because they knew that it was Beck and his friends’ table. Well, Trina sometimes sat with them, but Beck really didn’t think she’d be considered a friend of his. He only put up with her mostly because she was Tori’s sister. These thoughts were in his mind as he was in line at the Grub Truck, getting two salad wraps instead of his usual one, when he heard Trina’s voice from the direction of their table. And he was not in the mood to be dealing with her right now.
Without as much as another thought, Beck turned on his heel and went back inside the school, looking for a different place to eat lunch. Jade would find him, probably, when she figured he wasn’t going to be joining them for lunch. He wasn’t really paying attention where he was going, but he wasn’t entirely surprised when his feet led him to the Black Box Theater. Thinking that there was a lesser chance that there was someone there who annoyed him, (there weren’t a lot of that, mind you) he went in and put his bag on the nearest chair, flopping down on the chair next to it.
Looking up, he noticed that he wasn’t alone. Good for him, the person wasn’t someone he didn’t want to see. Quite the opposite actually. Tori was one of his closest friends, and the only reason he didn’t talk to her much was because of Jade. The last thing he wanted was Jade to be mad at him. “Hey Tori,” he said with a smile, putting his feet up on a black wooden box in front of him. “I see I’m not the only one who’s not joining the others for lunch.” Remembering that he bought two wraps, he held one out to her. “I don’t even know why I bought two, you can have the other one.”

•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘• Suddenly glad that she hadn’t bailed, Tori smiled to her close friend as he went about making himself comfortable. He made a statement about not joining the others which cued up a saying in her mind, that great minds think alike, but she kept that little diddy to herself.
“Yah know I might have to take you up on that, I sort of forgot I was even hungry...that was until you said something.”
Her smile not faltering Tori moved to the stairs suddenly feeling the weight of her hunger setting in. Striding down the stairs and up the isles as quick as she could without stepping too far outside the boundaries of what would be considered walking, Tori made her way towards the seat adjacent to Beck so she could accept the wrap.
“And maybe you got the other one because something was telling you there was staving girl chilling in the Black Box.”
It was a silly idea but Tori knew Beck wasn’t going to judge. Taking a more relaxed position herself Tori made haste when it came to eating her wrap. It was quite for a while, but a comfortable quite. Looking out onto the stage while mulling over what to say next Tori tried her best to eat silently given the theater was much more tranquil then the Asphalt Cafe.
“So how much do I owe you for the food?”
Finally looking back at Beck, she caught herself wondering where Jade was. It was almost abnormal to not see her with him. She almost felt a little guilty talking to him without her chaperoning. But what was the sense in that? They were just talking about food, so she dropped the matter.

Beck sat smiling as Tori sat down beside him and took the food he was holding out to her. “And why you decide to hang out here while dying of hunger is a mystery to me,” he chuckled, taking a big bite out of his wrap. He was hungry; he woke up late that morning and didn’t have time for breakfast.
A silence followed his words, but it wasn’t the awkward kind of silence. Beck only felt awkward silences around Sinjin, where you could never figure out what was going on that boy’s head when he doesn’t talk. So he didn’t talk to him much. Although sometimes Beck thought is seemed that the more you try to avoid someone, the more you accidentally bump into them along the hallways and such. He just avoided Trina a few minutes ago, did that mean that the chance of actually seeing her would increase? Double, even?
Beck shook his head once. “Don’t worry about it, my treat,” he smiled, crumpling up the plastic wrapper and throwing it at the nearest trash bin by the exit. “So, care to explain why you were here as opposed to actually having lunch?” He looked at her expectantly, as if he was a teacher and she just got caught skipping.

•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘• Pleasantly surprised by Beck’s disregard of her offer to pay him back Tori was still planning to make some kind of protest but he was faster on making a new topic for the two. Certainly she could have told him that she had just lost track of the time but that was lie. On the other hand how could she explain her real motive for being here and not there without sounding…well weird. “Well it’s a funny story actually I was….” Stopping right there she knew she was about to pull the lost time card. “Okay not that funny, I was here because I’m not ready to let go of…well all of this” Fanning her arms out to the theater and perhaps less obviously the school Tori was trying to keep from letting too much of her feelings on leaving from coming out. Saying goodbye was hard for her. “And what about all of us? I mean after this will we even see one another again?” Taking her gaze off of a random spot on one of the walls she looked to Beck trying to smile. She didn’t want to appear to serious, he got enough intensity everyday as it was. “Stupid I know…I mean we still have lots of time to worry about it. Just stressing myself out I guess.” Smiling gently Tori raced to the next conversation like she was on fire and it was a bucket of water. “So hey how did your weekend go?” Popping her feet up on the back of the chair in front of her she tried to seem more chill then had moments ago.

As Tori gestured to the theater, a look of understanding dawned upon Beck. Of course, it was understandable that she’d grow attached to this. He remembered the first day she came here; the rest of the gang were already going to Hollywood Arts, Tori was the latest addition to their group. He didn’t see her performance that was apparently the reason why she was offered a place at this school, but he’s seen loads of her performances inside and outside of school, singing and acting. He could say that she definitely deserved the invitation to HA.
“It’s not that hard to make plans to meet,” he shrugged, smiling slightly. “And I completely understand.” For Beck, Hollywood Arts was more than just your normal high school where you had classes and you hung out with your friends all the time. No, this school was the only school where you can do what you love to do, what you want to do, and you’re having fun while learning. “We’ve got the rest of the year ahead of us, Tori. Don’t worry too much about what’s not yet here.”
Beck went along with her when she changed the topic, and he decided to leave it at that. Even he wasn’t comfortable with the topic of leaving. “Just the usual,” he grinned. “Pretty boring, actually. How was yours?”

"Christmas shopping?" he asked, looking at her. "Yeah, that reminds me. I haven't done that yet. I'll have to ask Jade when she's planning on doing that." Buying presents was, in Beck's opinion, the hardest part of any holiday. He didn't know what all his friends wanted as a gift, so he usually played safe and gave everyone the same thing. Can you blame the guy for not knowing much about shopping? But, then again, Jade would be there with him..
Beck thought back to what he did last weekend. "Just went and watched sports with my dad," he smiled. A few years ago, his dad would come into his RV and watch with him, but ever since the little accident he met when Jade decided to get him a dog, Beck had to back into the house to watch the games with his dad. "And how was your weekend?"
