Wanna Shake You, Wanna Break You,
Jade sat at a big table with a sign announcing auditions for her new play, Adventures In The Dank Dark Night. People were here auditioning firstly for the two main roles, Danny and Larka, and also for the other smaller parts. The play, about a teen couple's adventure in the mysterious world of the night, was just as dark as all her plays were. Of course, like all her plays the ending was a mixed one. The couple makes it out alive but Danny is forever disfigured, Larka has a fractured leg, and both are suffering of broken hearts. It was especially good, better than all her others, and the turnout for the lead roles was an impressively large number of students. Unfortunately the few people she had already auditioned either couldn't act or didn't look the part. Not that Jade didn't love to tell people how horrible they were, but she actually needed, in the end, someone who could act and have good chemistry with the other lead. Oh, and some good people for the backstage stuff, but she could convince Senjin to do that if no one else wanted to.
While Jade scanned the list for someone she knew could do the part and if they were coming up soon, she called out the next name. A girl named Rosie Sharon came up to her and started on the script, but by the first couple of lines she could tell that the girl wasn’t any good. “Next!” She yelled, interrupting the girl in the middle of her lines. She looked hurt, but Jade had other things to do besides give the girl a piece of her mind. “Is there anyone here who can actually act?” She muttered under her breath.

It was a rather pleasant day today, and Cat had been wandering the halls, jumping excitably in her newly-found Jupiter Boots, when she came across a small poster, probably an advertisement. Interested, she bounced in place while she read it (though it took her twice as long because she kept losing her place and focus). Wow, Jade didn't tell me she made a play! she thought to herself. Maybe she wanted it to be a surprise!
With that thought in mind, Cat figured Jade wouldn't mind if she found out. Cat always wanted to have a main role in something. She thought it'd be very fun, and she was sure that her friend had come up with a great idea for a play. Cat hopped her way down to the Black Box Theater where Jade was doing auditions, and upon opening the door and entering, said, "Hi, Jade!"
She bounced her way over to where her friend was sitting, confidence written all over her face. After all, Jade was one of her very best friends! She would have to let her be in the play... right?

As Cat bounced through the door, Jade gave a sigh of relief. “Finally.” She said, after nodding in acknowledgment to her greeting, “A person with some talent. Something almost everyone in this room seems to be lacking.” She raised her voice for the last sentence so the girl who had just left would here. She was, if you couldn’t tell, a lot nicer to cat then she was to anyone else. Cat was a sister to her, a supremely odd, little ditzy sister. A sister like that needed to be protected, not yelled at, if she made a mistake. It was a pretty tough world, Jade made sure it was, but for the time being her ruthless teasing would be reserved for other people.
“Anyway, what are you going to be doing? A monologue or something? Not that you really need it, but still. Or you could just be the lead either way, which you already were going to be as soon as you bounced in. Basically, you really don’t need to audition, because you’d get the lead either way. So, that being said, you want to help me audition the boys?” Jade said quickly to Cat, wanting to get the whole audition done with sooner rather than later.

Jade sure did speak fast. She must have been tired of auditioning people; Cat often found this to be the case. She blinked confusedly a few times before registering that somehow, magically, she seemed to have gotten the part. She bounced up and down, completely excited, and gave Jade a big hug, even though afterward she realized that Jade might hurt her for doing so.
"Yay! I love getting parts in plays!" she cheered. She nodded fervently when Jade asked if she wanted to help out, of course she would! It would be fun to interview others and see what they were good at. Especially if they were going to be all guys- this was a perfect opportunity for Cat to flirt with some cute boys! She did love cute boys. Cat wondered whether someone she knew would get the other lead or not. Either way it would be fun.
Cat loved to act, so it didn't matter to her who the other person was playing the role opposite her. Either way it was a win-win situation: if it was her friend, then they'd have a great time together. If it was someone she didn't know it would probably be a cute boy and she could get an awesome boyfriend or something! She sighed contentedly and plopped down in a chair next to Jade. Today would be wonderful.

Alex really suddenly was bored, he had nothing to do for his free period, a teacher, had told him there was a play going on and he was already signed up to Audition, Alex didn't really care much for plays even though thats where his acting career debuted, in a school play, his mom was off filming a movie in new york, his 12 year old brother was at school, and his sister who was a sophmore in college just plain annoyed him.
Alex walked down the hall, well basically flipping down the hall, since he love to back flip and front flip, he stopped as he saw the sign, he looked at it, "Tell me this isn't the play he signed me up for." Alex said, that's when he realized this was the only play going on. Alex exhaled and walked toward the black box theater.
As he walked in he saw a red headed girl, and another girl, he had seen them both before, but Alex didn't really talk to them that much, unless it was asking for a piece of paper or lending them a pen or something. "Hey guys, I'm Alex Jones, and I'll be auditioning for... uh...." Alex looked down at his script, "Danny."

Jade looked up. A fellow senior, fantastic. She’d seen him maybe once or twice, but she didn’t talk to random people, that was Cat’s job. For his sake, he’d better hope he can act. I’m really going to let him have it if he can’t. I’m honestly done. She flipped her dark hair over her shoulder irritably as he said his name. “I know who you are, get on with it.” She said to the guy. He didn’t look excited to be there, a point against and for him. On the one hand, if he could pretend to get into the part when he really didn’t care it meant he was actually talented. On the other hand, if he wasn’t happy to be here why did he come at all? It was a slight insult to Jade.
“So, read the script already!” She said to Alex, giving him a look that could wilt flowers. “I haven’t got all day to waste auditioning people. You’re either talented or you aren’t.” It wasn’t nice, but hey, when was she ever? The simple answer: never.
(Just make something up for the script, whatever works. If I know Jade it would be something creepy, dark, or both.)

Alex didn't really wanna be there but he thought It'd be cool to do a play, Alex had read over the script running down the hall, he thought the writer was really talented. He looked over a couple lines, he was going to do lines from the end at the part where the guy becomes dark and tries to kill the girl.
So as he stood there waiting for the girl to say something, she said she knew who he was, Alex knew who she was, Jade West. People found her scary, almost the whole school, Alex didn't really think she was scary, or a really mean person, he thought everyone had some good in them.
"Alright." Alex said. Alex looked to the part where Danny snaps in the world of night and threatens to kill Larka.
Alex cleared his throat, his face suddenly became dark. "Hey my sweets!" Alex said creeply and weirdly smiling. "Looks like your still fine, BUT I'M NOT!" Alex yelled. "You left me for dead!" Alex said smiling. "But maybe be I should finish the deal! ON MY OWN TERMS!" Alex yelled in insanity. He pretended to take a knife, "MY GIRLFRIEND WOULD RATHER SAVE A PERSON THAT ALMOST KILLED HER! THAN HER OWN BOYFRIEND!" Alex yelled, insane, he put it to his chest. "GOOODDBYYEEEEEEE!" Alex yelled, but pretended to put his knife down, "Wait a minute, why don't I just kill, you." Alex smiled, walking darkly with his pretend knife in the airm but after that, that point was where somehow they came back to the real world. So Alex stopped.
((Alex is great at acting, but you know whatever.))

Inside Jade was clapping with glee, but if she had actually done that it would have ruined her image. The guy was great, and he had no fear of acting insane in front of everybody. Managing to keep her feelings in check, she raised an eyebrow. “That scene? Almost everybody did the one where Danny and Larka are still in love. A point in your favor I guess.” She was about ready to give him the part and hop out the door, but she had asked Cat to help her and now she at least had to ask her opinion. There would be serious things to talk about if she didn’t agree.
“Cat.” She started, deliberately slowly so Cat would get that no matter what this guy should get the part, “What do you think about Alex’s performance?” A you’d-better-say-he’s-fine look planted itself on her face. She was not going to spend another minute auditioning terrible people. If they wanted to be in Little Sunshine Girl, auditions were next door, next month. AKA not here, not now.

To be quite honest, Cat was a bit frightened by the performance. She'd taken off the Jupiter Boots and had stretched out in her chair, waiting for a nice little scene where he talked about how much he loved his girlfriend, or something. Instead, it was... well it was creepy! The boy was very good at acting, what was his name again? He was in their grade. Oh, Alex, that's who it was- Jade had said it only moments before.
And now she was being asked her opinion, by Jade. What did she think? The only thing that could come out of the girl's mouth was "Scary!", though after looking at her friend she was only more frightened. Cat had known Jade for a long time, so she could read her expressions like a book. This one told her that the act was good and she'd better say yes, and Cat didn't want to know what the consequences were going to be.
"It's good!" she said hastily, fear in her eyes. She nodded a few times just to make sure Jade had seen her.

Jade nodded slowly, still repressing that urge to clap. She had an actor for both the leads, and several of the not-so-good for the lead people who auditioned would fit quite well in the smaller roles. The audition was done, and she was ready to bolt out of that room like there was no tomorrow. She would have, too, if she hadn’t stopped to give Alex an answer.
This, despite what you may think, was a process. She couldn’t just say he was in, because that wouldn’t fit with her persona she had been displaying. Instead, it was vital to think about it for a while. “Hmm.” She said out loud, adapting a thoughtful expression, “I guess we’re in agreement then. I liked the acting, and you’d work well with Cat, so I suppose we’ll have to say you got the part. Congrats.”
