•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘•◘• Getting out of the house today was Tori’s plan. Before anyone had time to notice she had switched into her work out clothes and slipped out the front door. It was one of those days where actually getting out and taking a jog seemed more appealing then turning on her game counsel and taking on a virtual track. In the back of her mind she had planned to maybe hit a movie or something by herself today, but what was the fun in that. The gears in her brain were turning as her feet pounded the paved walkway of the park.
With her ear buds in, it was almost like she had her own sound track going with her movement. Each new song inspired her differently causing quiet the conflict in regards to her after jog activity. All the folks she passed by seemed to be off to do something completely their own Maybe I should just call someone and then they can...oh I don’t know decide for me.. Pulling her phone from her pocket, Tori was about to call Andre, but a somewhat a familiar face from Hollywood Arts came into view. Or I could just jog over and talk to James!
Slowing to a more approachable pace the brunette put on her usual happy go lucky smile. Stopping in James’s line of vision she hoped to not be forming some kind of obnoxious distraction but just dropping on by like she was.
“Hey there James what’s up?”

James was bored, extremely bored. He had completed all his homework, a sign of his nerdiness, and he was still too new to know anybody to call and really talk. He could sit and play Zelda to kill an hour or two, but he didn’t feel like being a bump on a log all day. His sister might be contented with going and shoplifting an item or two, but he certainly wasn’t. Criminal records don’t look good on college applications. He still had no idea where he wanted to go, but he’d been accepted into and was considering Yale, Julliard, or Berkley. He had money to go where ever he wanted, his dad had made some good investments in the stock market a couple of years ago which had left them with, well, a copious amount of cash, but he hadn’t decided firmly on a major yet.
Felling dissatisfied, he wandered out of the house and into Rosebud Park. The house they had bought here was good, and being near the park was nice, but he wasn’t in the mood for a run. He just stood there like an idiot, looking at the way the light bounced off the trees. Because of this, he was completely unprepared for Tori’s unexpected greeting. He looked up, startled out of his fantasy world, and searched for the source of the small talk. When he saw the brunette standing there and had finally located her name from the recesses of his brain, it was about half a second later. How stupid he must seem! “Hi, you’re Tori, right?” He replied, which he immediately regretted. Of course she was Tori, who else would she be?

James smiled a sheepish smile, not really wanting to admit to her he hadn’t been doing anything. It makes me sound like a total doof! He thought, But what else can I tell her? So he shrugged and said, “Well, I wasn’t actually doing much of anything. I don’t really know anywhere to hang out yet, I’ve only really been to school and to my house while we were unpacking from the move. Now that’s done, and it leaves me with absolutely nothing to do.” Now he had reached a dilemma. Should he ask her to go and hang out with him, or did that just make him sound like a creep? He really had no ulterior motive besides having a bit of fun, which, from what he could see of this town, was going to be a lot of work. At least it had good security. He really didn’t want to go to the police station and bail out his sister. Again. He decided to wait a bit to ask if she wanted to hang out, and see if she would ask him first. It wasn’t that he was particularly shy, but the thought of someone randomly asking him to hang out was creepy, and he didn’t want to be pegged as a creep when he was already going to be deemed a nerd. Maybe things like that didn’t happen at this school though. What was it supposed to be, turbo high school for the super talented? Maybe the super talented didn’t care about a kid getting all his homework for the next week done in one day, or playing a Zelda game straight through dinner. Maybe this Tori girl didn’t care either, which would be a plus. Never the less, he wasn’t going to take any chances, so he would stick to his original plan.
